📘 About the Batting Average

Calculate a players batting average from total runs and dismissals.

The number of dismissals rather than the number of innings is used in the denominator.

🧮 Formula

Batting average
Batting Average = Total Runs ÷ Times Dismissed

Where

  • Total runs = runs scored
  • Dismissals = times the batter was out
  • Batting average = runs ÷ dismissals
A not-out innings does not count as a dismissal.
