About the Area Converter
This area converter changes a measurement from one unit of area to another. It covers 127 units: metric and imperial units such as square meters, hectares, acres and square feet, plus the traditional land units still used in everyday life across every continent, including the bigha, kanal, marla, cent and guntha (India and Pakistan), ropani and kattha (Nepal), tsubo and pyeong (Japan and Korea), rai (Thailand), feddan (Egypt), morgen (South Africa), manzana (Central America) and alqueire (Brazil).
Many traditional units are not the same size everywhere. A bigha, for instance, is 27,225 sq ft in Uttar Pradesh but 14,400 sq ft in West Bengal, so each regional version is listed separately and labelled with its state or country. Check which one your document uses before relying on a result.
