📘 About the Timestamp Converter

A Unix timestamp counts the seconds since 1 January 1970 at midnight UTC; computers and databases use it to store times. Paste one to see the date and time in your time zone, in UTC and in India Standard Time, in ISO 8601 format and as "3 days ago".

Pick a date and time to get its timestamp in seconds and milliseconds. Milliseconds (13 digits, used by JavaScript and Java) are detected automatically.

💡 How to use the Timestamp Converter

❓ Frequently asked questions

Seconds or milliseconds?

A 10-digit number is seconds (PHP, Python, MySQL); a 13-digit number is milliseconds (JavaScript, Java). The tool detects which you pasted.

What is the year 2038 problem?

Old systems store timestamps in a signed 32-bit number, which overflows on 19 January 2038. Modern 64-bit systems are not affected.
