India gives 26 weeks of fully paid leave for the first two children (12 weeks from the third). UK mothers get up to 52 weeks with 39 weeks of Statutory Maternity Pay. The US has 12 weeks of unpaid job-protected FMLA leave, and Australia pays up to 26 weeks of Parental Leave Pay for babies born from 1 July 2026.
