📘 About the SGPA to Percentage

SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average) is the credit-weighted average of your grade points for one semester. Universities convert SGPA to percentage with the same formula they use for CGPA, so pick your university's formula from the list.

Need the SGPA itself first? Use the SGPA calculator to work it out from your subject grades and credits, then convert it here.

🧮 Formula

VTU 2021+, Anna, AKTU
Percentage = SGPA × 10
CBSE-style
Percentage = SGPA × 9.5
JNTU, GTU (SPI)
Percentage = (SGPA − 0.5) × 10
VTU 2015–18, MAKAUT
Percentage = (SGPA − 0.75) × 10

Where

  • SGPA = semester grade point average (10-point scale)
  • m = custom multiplier
Universities use the same formula for SGPA and CGPA.
