📘 About the School Age

Schools use an age cut-off date: a child must reach the minimum age by that date to join a class that school year. Under India's NEP 2020 the minimum age for Class 1 is 6 years, with three years of pre-school (Nursery/Bal Vatika 1 at 3+, LKG at 4+, UKG at 5+).

Enter the date of birth to see the school year your child can join each class and their age on the cut-off date. Cut-off dates differ by state and board — enter your school's date if it isn't the default.
