📘 About the ORS Amount

Oral rehydration solution (ORS) replaces the water and salts lost in diarrhoea and saves lives. Enter your child's weight, age and signs of dehydration to see how much ORS to give, using the WHO plans followed in India.

Without dehydration, give ORS after each loose stool (Plan A). With some dehydration, give 75 ml per kg over 4 hours (Plan B). Severe dehydration needs hospital care. Zinc for 10–14 days shortens the illness.

🧮 Formula

WHO Plan B
ORS in 4 hours = 75 ml × weight (kg)
