📘 About the IVF Due Date
IVF due dates are more precise than natural ones because the date of fertilisation is known. A baby is due 266 days (38 weeks) after fertilisation, so for a day-5 blastocyst the due date is 261 days after the transfer and for a day-3 embryo 263 days.
It works the same for fresh and frozen embryo transfers (FET). Pregnancy weeks are still counted from an 'equivalent' last period two weeks before fertilisation, so you'll be about 4 weeks pregnant on the day of a positive beta test.

How do I calculate my due date after a day-5 transfer?
Add 261 days to the transfer date (or 38 weeks minus 5 days).
Is the due date different for a frozen embryo transfer?
No — use the transfer date and the embryo's age (day 3, 5 or 6), just like a fresh transfer.
When should I take a pregnancy test after embryo transfer?
The clinic blood test (beta hCG) is usually 9–10 days after a day-5 transfer or 12 days after a day-3 transfer. Home tests earlier can be wrong, especially after an hCG trigger shot.
How many weeks pregnant am I at transfer?
About 2 weeks 5 days on the day of a day-5 transfer.
